What Makes Computers Tick - A Snacking Otaku Book

In 2016 I started work on a project called "What Makes Computers Tick."

Early Cover Design

The idea is of an A4 size paperback book, that can be mistaken for an instruction manual, that explains how computers work in a way most people can understand - simple language, little jargon, a lot of diagrams etc.

Pages were first published as nibbles in May 2021.

These pages can be seen here.

Introduction

Electricity - A Refresher Course

Breaking the World Down into Numbers

How Computers Count

Bits, Bytes, and Words

Making Circuits Smaller

When will the final book be made? I don't know. 2025, maybe?

This is the first book I am actually trying to make. It'll involve a lot of stuff new to me, so I need time to learn this stuff. Hopefully this will lead to future books from the Snacking Otaku brand.
